Does the board feel Robert Stock should have stayed in High School? I think he would have gone in Rd 1 if he had. I feel that if he has no regrets, then I am happy for him. Being someone who turned down pro ball for College, I never looked back and never regretted it. Being the 67th overall pick, Stock's in line for about $500,000. So instead of having a million dollars and no college experience, he's going to get half a million and three years of college maturity. I'd say he is still in pretty good shape.

Wrstdude,My Cards just drafted Robert Stock....Robert is pure fast twitch gold and with the Cardinal minor league developers late interest in learning how to eliminating arm injuries there is no reason why he should not develop into a top healthy pitcher in their Camp. I believe with the right training he could get near a hundy. Kharma,I really wanted him to go to either of the San’s but he’ll take thin air, it will make his stuff even faster, he was just learning the Sinker his sixth pitch of which he only threw seldom this Spring which will help him at altitude, I was lucky to have videoed one. He said he only threw his screwball a few times because it was going away from non-use. The temptation to just blow people down with heat because you have it is a huge detriment to development these type players. Here I am complaining that he only had 5 during the year? Stock may demand and get more and be worth it than people think? Beemax,And getting ringside seats at the Trojan, Bruin football game every year sold it for me!! Loved how Hobgood moved up, I guess he can hang up his bat know. www.pe.com/video/sports-index.html?nvid=369847I thought Davidson would go higher! He’s still a first rounder. Trayce Thompson was the greatest mover I think, How projectable is this kid!! UCLA might loose this one, lets hope not! He needs to develop. I think this was a banner year here in SoCal; it’s never like this! Storen has already signed for 1.6 this kind of messes the round up because it is the Nationals 2nd pick with most of their budget going to number one, maybe he’s the one guy who should have waited for the fog to clear? What did you think of the Giants first picks? I was dying to see Tyler play with Tim one day!

Kharma,,
"Is Mr Hobgood one of your students?"
Hobgood Bat traines with Jim Lentine the last three years and pitches with Len Strelits.
I did have my best draft ever though and one of my baseball students just signed a 50 million dollar contract in the NFL. You should see him pronate that football, his best pitch was the torque fastball at the time he quit baseball and was chucking the pill in the low 90's as a freshman in HS.
Lentine and me are on the same page and collaborated on the Texas Rangers batting manual (the simple guide to hitting) in the early 90's. I did all the hand drawn graphics in it.

Any chance a guy could get a copy of that? Or just some of the dirty details in that book?

Cosmo34, imagine44,
This guide was written for and requested by the Texas Rangers while Jim was the roving MiLB batting coach. I believe the Rangers have the rights to it but would not think they would care if it is disseminated or used, I don’t think they are still passing it out although I did see a word for word Spanish version put out by Rudy Jaramillo, after all there is nothing there that is proprietary or new? I will talk to Jim and see if he minds making it public? If not I can send it out personally on an individual basis.
