Ok guys....my HS team is resuming play tonight after our State playoff game was stopped in the 4th inning last night. We pick up play again tonight with the opposing teams' runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 ball on the batter, and no outs! The score is 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th.
I am asst. varsity coach and suggested to the HC we might think about walking the No. 6 hitter, thereby loading the bases...play the infield in, and try to get ground ball force outs at home. Maybe even turn a 5-2-3 or 1-2-3 double play. In our favor is the bottom of the order coming up - 7-8-9.
We are bringing in a new pitcher to start tonight's play. She keeps the ball down well and has a great change-up.
Anyone have any suggestions? Fun stuff!!
Thanks, Mike

IMO you should pitch for the strikeout as opposed to an intentional walk. If you dont get your strikeout, you can still get your walk
