Whether you are looking for advice or not, I'd like to hear about how you or your kid is training for the upcoming season.
Are they working with a trainer? Do they have a set program - If so, what does it entail? Do they have a gym membership, or do they just use their garage? Are you supervising them? What has been effective for you?
Let the board know!

For what it's worth, here's a sample of what our guys do at our facility.

That's an awful lot of momentum lifting. Maybe one guy has acceptable form. Maybe.

If your still interested. .. my daughter has been going to a personal trainer the last couple of years at a "sport specific" training facility. They are great at motivating the athletes and she loves it. We generally start out doing a long toss program for about 45 minutes and then they train about 1 1/2 hrs. I wonder though, how much training does she need in the off season which is November-March. They will continue to practice 2 days a week and do some scrimmages. Is it more important to practice or do straight weight/aerobic training? Should they take a break completely from practicing their sport? I personally don't think so. If the practices are intense/fast paced, aren't they getting what they need?
