This is a thread that I will continue to update. I will add players that I want input on, and will invite those players to come here and discuss there swing. I am coaching the varsity summer, and fall team. These teams will consist of the same core of players and with any luck they will continue to come to this forum and contribute.
The first guy I would like to share is T.Rags He is coming off of a very good freshman season, and has the ability to play varsity as a soph. Rags is a natural righty that hits lefty, and can REALLY hit the ball the other way well. Advanced power for his age.
I would really be grateful if one of our members could convert this into a gif. If you need the original vid, let me know and I will email it to you.
This ball was hit just to the right of center, and hit well.

I would LOVE to see more swings from this kid! Only going into his sophomore year and a kid who drives the ball the other way really well...sounds (and looks) like he has some real potential.

Don't let BM touch this kid.
Please.
I ask of you.....DO NOT LET BM GET CLOSE.
Don't let him read BM's stuff. Don't let him see BM's clips.
Without the benefit of a frame by frame look....this kid is quite good.
A good hand pivot point. A good rear hip pivot point. Good syncage. All go 'all in' at the same time. Sudden. Stretch and Fire. One-legged.
I would say the most important thing for this kid is ear plugs.

You can literally 'see' this stretch and fire unload.... ....in that swing.

Strange, I could tell exactly how he was going to swing just by his setup. I need a life.
But man, get that boy in the weight room and tell him to keep swinging. His actions will get smoother as he gets older. Looks like he's got a plan to stay on the ball and drive it up the middle/left center. Rare find in a youngin.

We have another double header tonight. I will try and get footage of a couple more of my players.
I have two more talented sophs that I would like opinions on.

It's hard to tell from the angle of the video, but the only suggestion I would make is; his back knee seems to sway back and he gets weight on the back side of his back foot. This doesn't hinder his power generation, but it could hurt his ability to explode quickly when he faces 90+. Keep the load on the inside of the back foot, with the back knee slightly in front of the back foot. Don't let him sway over the back foot. You want weight ON it, but you don't want your mass OVER it.

Dee do all these kids play on the same high school team? it seems like an awfl lot of talent from one high school kharma Yes, same team. This is a very good year for the program. Last season only had a couple of college calliber players... The class of 2010 is a different story. In this thread, the player is a 2012 guy...
