1) Do you think the UCLA hitters tried to do too much against the soft-throwers from SC, and were they patient enough? I think the answer is pretty obvious there...I always felt more comfortable against hard throwers versus soft-tossers because I didn't have to worry about slop. The attitude can be to try to do too much because you feel that they cannot overpower you, and you end up getting yourself out for it. If you take the situation and the talent, SC simply played better and deserved it. Maybe, but I don't place any blame on him. He came in and threw his butt off, victimized by a error at first and Rodriguez completely missing a fastball in the 11th. The 11th had a lot more to do with Rodriguez's error and Savage not walking the bases loaded than Klein running out of gas. No, but Deemax's quote from our father always rings true.
